Sunset 3

This is the last of the three cards that I received in an exchange on the Yahoo Group Fabricard. The post card is from Ildika, who lives in Kentucky. She said this is the sunsetting on her farm. Ildika did a wonderful job of paper piecing the postcard.

Sunset Postcard

I have been involved in postcard exchange with the Yahoo group Fabricards. This has been a nice size trade as the groups is just four people. Miriam from Ireland made the postcard above. She appliqued the sun on to black fabric. The water is muted stripped fabric. Miriam placed netting over the top and then stitched the reflection with red thread.

Needle Felting

The top picture is a piece that I needle felted on my "Embellisher". I started with some felt and added some hand painted silk. I then needle felted some different wools, more hand painted silk, yarns and scrim. After finishing the felting I cut the large piece apart and made two postcards from it. The bottom pictures are the finished postcards to which I have added stitching and beads.

Valentine from Fannie

This Valentine's card came from my friend Fannie in Texas. Fannie painted the fabric with Neocolor II and then free motion stitched the heart with black thread. She has done a wonderful job at stippling the background with gold metallic thread. Fannie has added a red crystal to finish off the heart. We have traded several times and it is always a treat to receive something from her. Be sure and stop by Fannie's blog and see more of her creations. You wouldn't be disappointed.

Kayla stamped on the fabric and also stitched some white fabric on to the card. This is the second postcard we have traded and she always uses bright colors .

Paper Fabric Hearts

This postcard is made with paper fabric that I made by bonding layers of tissue paper to muslin with diluted glue. I then did some stamping and embossing, added some beads, a crystal and some yarn. I didn't remember that I had scanned the postcard before I sent it but was glad to find it in my files.

Season of Hearts, Begins

Today starts Valentine's week. I thought I would show some of the Valentine's I have made or received. This postcard is one that I made for a swap. The card started off with purple colored raw silk for the background. I then stitched red batiked fabric to it. The white hearts are machine embroidered and then appliqued on to the card. To finish it off I added some red beads and a crystal.

Let it snow...

I have been busy making postcards for two different Holiday exchanges. I made some free standing lace snowflakes and have added them to a few of the postcards. Think I'll add a little more pizazz to finish this card off.

Postcard from France

This postcard came from Ann in France. It is a little difficult to see on this posting but Merry Christmas is embroidered on the green, in the center of the postcard. It is fun and inspirational to see all the different postcards people make.

"Greeting from Canada"

This card came today. It is from Flo in Canada. She appliqued the three ornaments on the background. Then she added some jewels and and the yarn tassel. Doing the extras has really made this a special card. I appreciate being able to exchange a second time with her.

"O Christmas Tree"

I belong to a couple of holiday post card exchanges and the cards are starting to arrive. This card comes from Barbara in Virginia. She has wrapped the tree with a pretty red ribbon and written the words to "O Christmas Tree" around the edge. I love this song, I always think of the German version whenever I hear it.
Today was a fun day, we took are granddaughter Molly home after she spent last night with us. We got to hear are son- in-law preach and then had a wonderful brunch that he prepared. Being a grandparent has some "great" perks.

Fabric-paper

This is a postcard that is made with fabric-paper. I started with several pieces of muslin and glued assorted papers and tissue papers to them. The glue was a diluted white glue. I then added paints, inks and markers. After every thing was dry (12 to 24 hours) I did some rubber stamping. I cut the different colors of fabric-paper up and sewed it together into postcards.

"Glittering Gum Leaves"

This postcard came from Margaret in Australia. I love the simplicity of the of the design and the bead work adds some punch to the leaf. What is so amazing is that the card was not in an envelope and arrived with all beads intact.

Denim Valley

This postcard came from Alicia. She and I are in several groups together. I like that she used different denims. The black denim is a nice accent and adds interest to the postcard.
