Dyeing Yarn
I thought I would try my hand at dyeing some yarn. My first attempt at dyeing was a sock weight yarn that is 75% wool and 25% nylon. I used unsweetened Koolaid in reds and purples. It is a quick and easy process.

The sock below is a pattern designed by Wendy Johnson and is in her book " Socks from the Toe Up".

Fabric Dyeing
Dyeing fabric has been one of those things on my to try list. I have decided to start small and begin with Zip Lock bags . Sue Bleiweiss has a tutorial link on her blog with the instructions. It didn't come out quite the way I thought is would, but it was a learning experience. I used Procion dyes. With some of the leftover dye I dyed some scrim, on the right side. I purchased a book "Color by Accident" by Ann Johnston, which looks to have a lot of information about dyeing.
