Swedish Weaving

14" x 29"

When I was in high school (a few years ago) a girl in my speech class gave a demonstration speech on Swedish Weaving. Also known as Huck Weaving. I fell in love with this technique and over the years have stitched many pieces. I finished this table runner yesterday. I love white on white designs.
The designs can be done on Huck towel fabric, Monks cloth and I have also used 14 count Aida fabric. The fabric I used on the table runner is called Popcorn fabric that I purchased from Nordic Needle. I have found fabric and books are available on EBay.

Years ago (way too many) I did one huck weaving dish towel. I didn't do more although I enjoyed it, because there wasn't any fabric to be found where I lived that I could use for this. Later I did hardanger embroidery but not a lot. It's all very pretty and your runner is terrific. Not many people do huck embroidery so your pieces will have a uniqueness to them that is nice too.
